This is my tried and tested guide to all things foodie around here – here being Henley-on-Thames. I mostly pootle around Oxfordshire and Berkshire, but throw in the odd curve ball if the mood takes me. I won’t blog about it unless I’ve tried it, and it won’t make the blog unless it’s memorable (for the right reasons).
I blog about pubs, restaurants, local produce, pop-ups, delis, cafes, butchers, bakers, candlestick… basically if it’s food or drink-related, and good, I’ll track it down. If there’s a decent walk near the pub I’ll mention that too so you can make a day of it, or at least work up an appetite.
As a former London food writer and editor I have eaten in the grungiest (but tastiest) of backstreet caffs and the starriest of Michelin restaurants. I began my food writing career working for Delia Smith and from there moved on to write for various magazines and websites including Sainsbury’s, BBC Good Food, UKTV Food, Country Living, Zest, Restaurant magazine and Food & Travel.
I now write freelance features for magazines, focusing mainly on lifestyle, health and parenting, and I do copywriting for food brands.
I hope you enjoy the blog, please share your brilliant local foodie finds in the comments.
